Business cards remain one of the most exchanged printed items in the UAE business environment. A well-produced business card makes a tangible statement about your professionalism. Here is what to know before you order.

Standard business card sizes in UAE. The most common size in the UAE is 90mm x 55mm, which aligns with international standards. Some businesses use 85mm x 55mm (the European standard). Square cards (55mm x 55mm) and folded cards are popular for creative industries. Specify your preferred size when requesting a quote — production is optimised for standard sizes.

Paper stock and weight. 350gsm artboard is the standard base for quality business cards in the UAE. Lighter stocks (250–300gsm) feel flimsy and reflect poorly on the brand. For premium applications, 400gsm or 450gsm with mounting (two layers bonded together) creates a noticeably weightier card.

Finishing options. Gloss lamination is the most common and most affordable finish — it protects the card and gives it a clean, professional look. Matte lamination has a softer appearance and is increasingly popular. Soft-touch (velvet) lamination has a premium tactile quality that stands out in a handful of business cards. Spot UV adds a gloss pattern over a matte-laminated surface, typically used to highlight logos or design elements.

Special finishes. Foil stamping (gold, silver, rose gold) adds a metallic element and is popular for luxury brand applications. Embossing creates a raised area that is felt as well as seen. These finishes add cost but are appropriate for luxury hospitality, real estate, legal, and financial sector clients.

Quantity and turnaround. Standard 350gsm business cards with lamination are typically produced in 3–5 working days in quantities of 250 to 10,000. Digital printing allows smaller quantities (under 100) with faster turnaround.
